1. Purpose
MyUniMentor works only if students can trust each other.
Everyone must act honestly, safely and respectfully.
2. Be honest
You must:
- - use your real identity;
- - provide accurate university/course/experience information;
- - accurately describe what you can help with;
- - correct material errors;
- - not create deceptive duplicate accounts.
3. Attend or communicate
If you cannot attend a Booking:
- - tell the other party as soon as reasonably possible;
- - use the cancellation/reschedule process.
Repeated avoidable no-shows may affect account standing.
4. Respect and non-discrimination
Do not:
- - harass;
- - threaten;
- - stalk;
- - discriminate unlawfully;
- - humiliate;
- - exploit;
- - retaliate against someone for making a good-faith report.
5. Immigration status
Never:
- - threaten to report someone to immigration authorities as leverage;
- - exploit a person's visa uncertainty;
- - demand money, favours or silence because of immigration status.
6. Academic integrity
Strictly prohibited:
- - completing or substantially producing assessable work for another person;
- - exam or assessment impersonation;
- - falsifying credentials;
- - contract cheating;
- - unauthorised access to a university account/system.
7. Regulated advice
Unless legally authorised and separately approved, do not provide:
- - personalised immigration assistance;
- - legal advice;
- - financial advice;
- - medical/clinical advice.
A Mentor may share personal experience without presenting it as professional advice.
8. Professional referral
When a user needs personalised visa advice, Mentors should direct them to:
- - official information; or
- - an appropriately authorised registered migration agent/legal practitioner.
Mentors must not accept undisclosed personal referral payments.
9. Privacy
Do not:
- - publish private messages;
- - share another user's contact/details without permission or lawful basis;
- - misuse identity documents;
- - record a private session without consent where consent is required.
10. Sexual and romantic boundaries
Sexual harassment, coercion and exploitation are prohibited.
A Mentor must not use an active mentoring relationship to pressure or pursue a Mentee for sexual or romantic contact.
Consensual conduct between adults outside an active mentoring relationship remains subject to safety, harassment and conflict rules.
11. Money and fraud
Do not:
- - take money for a service you knowingly do not intend to provide;
- - falsify completion;
- - fabricate refunds;
- - manipulate payment evidence;
- - engage in chargeback fraud.
12. Off-platform conduct
Do not:
- - spam users to divert them;
- - deceptively use MyUniMentor solely to avoid Platform fees;
- - misuse contact information obtained through MyUniMentor.
13. Super Mentor conduct
Super Mentors must:
- - model good practice;
- - support newer Mentors respectfully;
- - explain Platform process accurately;
- - escalate issues beyond their authority.
Super Mentors must not:
- - pretend to be company management;
- - decide disputes/refunds;
- - threaten deactivation;
- - access restricted verification/payment information;
- - falsify Community Contribution Hours;
- - fabricate award evidence;
- - pressure another person into unpaid contribution.
14. Community Contribution integrity
No student may record more than 8 unpaid Community Contribution hours in a Monday–Sunday week.
Unused weekly hours cannot be carried forward or backdated into another week.
Genuine verified hours may continue accumulating over multiple weeks with no lifetime maximum.
Fabricated, duplicated or inflated hours are prohibited.
Merit awards do not create hours.
15. Safety and crisis disclosures
Mentors are not crisis counsellors.
If someone appears to face an immediate risk of serious harm:
- - encourage them to contact emergency or qualified support;
- - use the Platform report function;
- - do not promise absolute secrecy where disclosure may be required or permitted for safety.
MyUniMentor may take reasonable emergency action where permitted or required by law.
16. Reporting
You may report a user, service, message or Booking.
Knowingly false or malicious reports are prohibited, but a report made honestly is not a breach merely because it cannot be substantiated.
17. Consequences
Possible responses include:
- - education/warning;
- - content removal;
- - temporary restriction;
- - loss of Super Mentor status;
- - suspension;
- - permanent deactivation;
- - payment hold/refund/release under the Dispute Policy;
- - referral to an authority where required or appropriate by law.
Serious safety, fraud, academic-integrity or unlawful conduct may justify immediate temporary restriction while investigated.
Permanent deactivation follows applicable law and the Deactivation Procedure.
