CJEL DIGITAL IMAGING EDUCATION SOLUTION PTY LTD (ABN 59 630 412 047; ACN 630 412 047) ("CJEL") operates the MyUniMentor project and online service ("MyUniMentor"). References to "MyUniMentor", "we", "us" or "our" mean CJEL in its capacity as operator of the MyUniMentor project.
1. Purpose
MyUniMentor wants students to build strong, factual evidence of mentoring, leadership and community participation.
2. What makes a record valuable
A record should be impressive because it is:
- - genuine;
- - detailed;
- - long-term where appropriate;
- - verifiable;
- - specific about responsibilities and outcomes.
It must not be inflated.
3. Uncapped contribution hours
A student may record no more than 8 unpaid Community Contribution hours per Monday–Sunday week.
Unused weekly hours do not carry forward.
There is no lifetime maximum on genuine verified Community Contribution Hours, so hours may continue accumulating over semesters or years within the weekly cap.
4. Separation of paid and unpaid activity
Career records must distinguish:
- - paid Mentor Services;
- - Community Contribution;
- - Super Mentor peer-leadership activities;
- - awards.
They must not combine different categories in a misleading way.
5. Merit awards
A student does not have to wait for a large hours total to receive an award.
Possible awards include:
- - MyUniMentor Early Excellence Award;
- - Emerging Student Leader Award;
- - Outstanding Peer Mentor Award;
- - Community Impact Award;
- - Founding Contributor Award;
- - Super Mentor Recognition Award.
6. Award criteria
Awards may recognise:
- - mentoring quality;
- - leadership;
- - reliability;
- - initiative;
- - integrity;
- - exceptional peer support;
- - high-quality resources;
- - community impact;
- - founding-stage contribution.
7. Award evidence
For every award, MyUniMentor should record:
- - recipient;
- - award;
- - date;
- - decision-maker;
- - criteria;
- - factual reason;
- - supporting evidence;
- - later correction/withdrawal if any.
8. No fictitious hours
An award never adds hours that were not completed.
MyUniMentor must not:
- - round up hours to improve a CV;
- - invent activity;
- - certify unsupported duties.
9. Career statement
A factual record may state, for example:
"[Name] participated in MyUniMentor as a Mentor/Super Mentor from [dates] and completed [X] verified Community Contribution Hours, including [activities]. [Name] received the [Award] on [date] in recognition of [documented reason]."
10. Use in applications
A user may choose to use a factual record in:
- - job applications;
- - scholarship applications;
- - internship applications;
- - further-study applications;
- - professional-development portfolios.
11. No guarantee of external recognition
MyUniMentor does not guarantee:
- - employment;
- - interview selection;
- - scholarship;
- - admission;
- - employer acceptance of hours;
- - treatment as employment/volunteering/internship;
- - professional accreditation.
12. Corrections
A user may request correction of a factual error.
MyUniMentor may correct or withdraw:
- - duplicate hours;
- - fabricated evidence;
- - mistaken records;
- - awards obtained through deception.
An audit trail should be retained.
13. Fairness
Award decisions must not use unlawful discriminatory criteria.
Personal friendship or favour alone is not a proper award criterion.
14. Terminology
Unless separately approved, records should use:
- - "Community Contribution Hours";
- - "peer leadership";
- - "Mentor/Super Mentor";
and should not automatically label all activity as "employment", "internship" or "volunteer work".
